Job Summary

Job Description:

We are a global multi-strategy hedge fund. Within our APAC business we run all six of the firms strategies Credit Fundamental Equities Macro Systematic Commodities and Equity Arbitrage. The COO Office sits between the portfolio managers and the firms support functions (Operations Trading Risk Technology Product Control Legal & Compliance Treasury Tax) making sure PM needs are translated into action and delivered without things falling through the cracks.

This is a hands-on cross-functional role built around three pillars and you will spend real time in all three rather than sitting in a back-office project seat:

1. PM engagement you are a trusted point of contact for the desks close to the investment teams and what they need.

2. Project & request coordination you drive requests and projects end-to-end across every support function keeping them moving and everyone accountable.

3. Broker relations & onboarding you own the coordination of bringing on new brokers and counterparties. It is a high-visibility seat that gives broad exposure to how an institutional hedge fund actually runs you will interact daily with senior people across the front middle and back office. It suits someone organised proactive and comfortable chasing things to completion.

What youll do

PM engagement

Act as a first point of contact for PMs raising requests questions or new ideas and make sure each one is captured understood and routed to the right place.

Build trusted relationships with PMs and desk staff across the six strategies learning each desks instruments workflows and priorities.

Keep PMs informed on the status of their open requests so they always have visibility rather than chasing for updates. Project & request coordination

Help manage the intake of incoming requests logging classifying and tracking them through to delivery and coordinating deliverables and milestones across functions.

Coordinate cross-functional requests (e.g. new instrument or market access data and systems builds tooling) across Investment Operations Trading Risk Technology Product Control Legal & Compliance Treasury and Tax partnering with each team to capture requirements and helping translate them into process or system solutions.

Help maintain accurate records of stakeholders approvals conditions and timelines for each request keeping each one moving and unblocked.

Conduct data and workflow analysis to spot automation or efficiency opportunities and help improve the teams request-tracking process and tooling including stakeholder maps and turnaround targets.

Prepare project documentation dashboards and management reporting and support governance forums (e.g. new-product / new-activity reviews and regular operating syncs).

Support broader strategic initiatives that help the multi-strategy platform scale with the right controls in place.

Broker relations & onboarding

Coordinate the onboarding of new brokers and counterparties end-to-end.

Maintain the broker/counterparty inventory and supporting reference data and serve as a coordination point for broker queries and reviews.

What were looking for

Required

03 years of experience recent graduates welcome. Internships or a first role in financial services (buy-side sell-side Big 4 or a financial-services consultancy) are a plus but not essential.

Strong organisational skills and genuine attention to detail; able to track many moving parts without dropping any.

Clear confident written and verbal communication and the maturity to interact with senior stakeholders.

A proactive entrepreneurial mindset with strong initiative comfortable taking ownership chasing following up and pushing things to completion without being told.

Strong with Excel and PowerPoint; quick to learn new systems and tools.

Eligible to work in Hong Kong or Singapore.

Nice to have

Familiarity with financial instruments across asset classes (equities credit rates FX commodities derivatives).

Awareness of trade lifecycle broker/counterparty onboarding or hedge-fund operations.

Ability to code (e.g. Python SQL VBA) is a plus though not required.

A strong academic record in any discipline we care more about analytical ability and critical thinking than the specific subject though computer science business analytics mathematics statistics finance and economics are all a natural fit.
