This role requires a strong foundation in mould design and someone with a collaborative mindset who loves to develop the capabilities of global and cross-cultural mould design teams while being accountable for their deliveries and final design quality.

The position is based in Singapore and no relocation assistance is offered for this position. Employment Pass or work pass eligibility for non-Singaporean candidates is subject to approval by the relevant Singapore government authorities and is not guaranteed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Represent EMF Mould Design and participate in escalations debating and aligning on requests for rework of external mould designs.

  • Execute mould design rework of STM (Standard Tool Moulds) and 3LM (3rd Generation Legacy Moulds) in Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens NX CAD system in collaboration with global stakeholders.

  • Ensure that learnings from design errors are documented updated by external constructors and that learning extractions are shared across the team.

  • Participate in pursuing and ensuring learning opportunities from experiences in the mould design rework process.

  • Participate in ensuring that contractors have the right capabilities and means to deliver constructions according to external standards.

  • Participate in ensuring processes are aligned with reducing lead time and cost and improving quality.

  • Contribute to the development of standards for future moulds based on the LEGO Group strategy.

  • Provide input for improving and developing the design of base mould designs in our CAD system (Siemens NX).

  • Act as 3D/2D review approver for mould designs on the external platform.

  • Be accountable for specific deliveries and quality of mould designs on the external platform ensuring that the scope for each single mould design solution is carried out.

Play Your Part in Our Team Succeeding

EMF Mould Design has the responsibility of delivering mould specifications for both novelty and reorder moulds manufactured on the external platform (suppliers located all over the world). This means that EMF MD is creating 250 mould designs throughout the year.

In order to control this amount of specifications and data we use Siemens NX CAD system together with Teamcenter (PLM Product Lifecycle Management) and Classifications (standard library). This position requires a mould designer with experience in mould design and the ability to analyse mould design-related problems and come up with solid technical solutions in a collaborative way of working.

Your contribution to executing the mould design rework will add to our ability to deliver 500 STM (Standard Tool Moulds) moulds of high quality from the global manufacturing platform into the LEGO qualification and production sites ensuring high output and quality of LEGO bricks.

Do You Have What It Takes
  • Background as a Mould Designer with experience in the manufacturing of plastic injection moulds.

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in plastic injection mould and knowledge of toolmaking processes.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with CAD systems and 3D design (preferably NX) Microsoft Office and SAP.

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills with strong interpersonal abilities.

  • Experience collaborating with remote teams.

  • Experience working in cross-cultural teams with a global mindset enabling you to build strong relationships with people across geographical cultural and professional borders.

  • Ability to analyse mould design-related problems and develop sound technical solutions.

  • A solid understanding of the requirements for LEGO building elements in relation to look feel and function.

  • Motivation to work with Lean principles.

  • Advanced oral and written English proficiency (Level 1316 / C1C2).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Knowledge of moulding processes and plastic materials in general.

  • Knowledge of simulation tools (CAE Computer-Aided Engineering and similar).

  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing relevant to mould design and mould tempering.

  • Background and experience in data collection and fact-based decision-making.
