Introduction:
GlobalFoundries is scaling enterprise AI and agentic workflows through the CIO FDE Office. The Lead Engineer will drive the technical strategy and architecture for AI-powered business solutions in partnership with enterprise architects and Redpanda FDE engineers. This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems cloud platforms enterprise integration AI architecture and governance frameworks. The successful candidate will lead the design and deployment of scalable secure and production-ready solutions that accelerate business transformation across GlobalFoundries.
Your Job:
Architect enterprise-grade AI agents and multi-agent workflows across business domains including Supply Chain IT Operations and Human Resources.
Define organizational standards and best practices for prompts tools telemetry and AI solution architecture.
Lead the development of modern full stack web applications and foundational backend middleware platforms.
Establish and enforce reusable component architectures to accelerate enterprise-wide deployment of AI solutions.
Architect secure scalable and high-throughput integrations with enterprise systems and applications.
Oversee the design and implementation of MCPs and enterprise integration frameworks.
Define and govern enterprise authentication authorization and security patterns for AI-enabled applications.
Design reference deployment architectures for ADP BYOC environments on AWS.
Drive standards for scalability observability reliability and cost optimization in partnership with cloud infrastructure and network teams.
Lead business workshops to identify evaluate and structure high-value automation and AI opportunities.
Establish development methodologies engineering standards and industrialization frameworks for AI solution deployment across GlobalFoundries.
Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the FDE pod.
Mentor junior engineers to build technical capability and engineering excellence.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to scale the CIO FDE Office operating model across multiple global business domains.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 9 years of software engineering and solution architecture experience.
Expert-level experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native application architectures.
Strong expertise in enterprise security architecture authentication authorization and secure integration patterns.
Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise APIs and integration solutions.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and influencing architecture decisions across multiple teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka or Redpanda.
Experience with large language model (LLM) platforms generative AI technologies and agentic workflow frameworks.
Experience with Azure AI Foundry Microsoft Copilot Studio or similar AI development platforms.
Experience designing deploying and operating enterprise-scale AI applications or autonomous agentic systems in production environments.
Strong understanding of observability governance risk management and cost-control practices within cloud environments.
Demonstrated success in establishing engineering standards reference architectures and technical governance frameworks.
Experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.
