Description -
What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics) does at HP:
- You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams
- Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
- Solve manufacturing process automation and product-related problems
- Design and modify fixtures jigs and tooling
- Support experiments characterization studies and NPI builds
- Assist with data analysis SPC gage R&R and engineering investigations
- Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production
Technical Skills Being Developed:
- Product Design
- Tools & Fixture Design
- Manufacturing Process Development
- Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experimental Design and Testing
- Rapid Prototyping
Individuals who do well in this role at HP usually possess:
- Current Bachelor or Master undergraduates in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship starting in January 2027
- 3D CAD
