Business Controller
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Expense Control & Analysis:
- Monitor analyze and report on marketing expenses against budget and forecasts identifying variances and investigating root causes.
- Review and approve marketing invoices ensuring proper coding and adherence to company policies and budgetary limits.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand campaigns projects and related financial implications.
- Prepare monthly accruals and reconciliations for marketing-related expenses.
- Assist in the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketing spend efficiency.
- Operational Expenditure (OPEX) Management:
- Support the overall OPEX budgeting and forecasting process working closely with various department heads to gather inputs and ensure accuracy.
- Perform monthly analysis of actual OPEX against budget and prior periods explaining significant deviations.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all operational expenses in the general ledger.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across various operational areas.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Contribute to the creation of management reports providing clear and concise financial insights.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement & Ad-hoc Projects:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in finance accounting or controlling with some exposure to expense management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables VLOOKUP financial modeling).
- Experience with financial software or ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
