Associate Corporate Counsel

This role will support importing customs transportation logistics and supply chain legal matters in APAC directly enabling AWSs growth. You will navigate rapidly evolving regulatory landscapes spanning multiple legal systems deliver strategic trade legal counsel on cutting-edge hardware and technology deployments including AI accelerators and next-generation networking equipment and directly influence AWSs global expansion this role youll collaborate with business and legal teams across AWS and Amazon to develop innovative compliance and business solutions manage government engagements and help shape the regulatory frameworks that govern how AWS builds and operates across Asia-Pacific.

This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to join a collaborative tight-knit team that is leading exciting and pioneering global initiatives as part of a business that is making history. Some travel both domestic and international will be required.


Key job responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on import customs export controls sanctions and other international trade laws applicable to cutting-edge technologies
Develop innovative international trade compliance solutions
Research and analyze evolving regulatory landscapes communicating complex legal implications to business stakeholders
Support regulatory engagements and provide strategic input on legal and business decisions
Manage multiple complex legal matters simultaneously with precision and creativity

Your day will be dynamic and impactful involving direct collaboration with global business teams researching emerging regulatory trends and developing creative compliance and business-impacting strategies. Youll engage with cross-functional teams translating complex legal frameworks into actionable business guidance and play a critical role in supporting AWSs groundbreaking technological advancements.

About the team
Our Trade and Logistics Legal team is a close collaborative group dedicated to pioneering legal solutions across AWSs global business. We work at the intersection of technology law and global strategy supporting AWSs mission to transform how businesses leverage cloud technologies worldwide. Your expertise will be crucial in helping us navigate the intricate regulatory environments of emerging technologies.



- 2 years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in trade compliance customs operations customs brokerage supply chain logistics or similar
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication abilities
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in electronics or technology sector
