Junior Accountant Accounts Payable Specialist

Astrantia Talent is recruiting on behalf of an international client for a Junior Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance function supporting operations in Serbia and the wider international Group.

This is a great opportunity for someone at an early stage of their accounting career who already has some practical experience in accounts payable supplier invoices or general accounting and would like to develop within an international business environment.

The position is linked to the companys Belgrade office. Due to currently limited office capacity there may initially be the possibility to work predominantly from home with regular visits to the Belgrade office to collaborate with and stay connected to the local team.

• Process check and record supplier invoices
• Ensure invoices are correctly coded and entered into the accounting system
• Support the preparation and processing of supplier payments
• Monitor outstanding invoices and payment deadlines
• Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records

• Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
• Support bank and account reconciliations
• Help maintain accurate financial documentation and records
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations where required
• Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing activities

• Communicate with suppliers regarding invoices payments and account queries
• Work closely with colleagues in Belgrade and the wider international finance team
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
• Provide administrative and accounting support to the wider finance function

• Degree or relevant qualification in Accounting Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field
• Some previous experience in accounts payable accounting bookkeeping or finance administration is preferred
• Applications from junior candidates and recent graduates with relevant practical experience are also welcome
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles
• Comfortable working with numbers invoices and financial documentation
• Good Excel and general MS Office skills
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system would be an advantage
• Fluent Serbian and good working English
• Accurate organised and detail-oriented working style
• Comfortable communicating with colleagues across different countries and functions
• Motivated to learn and develop within an international finance environment
