Job Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the organizations financial control environment accounting operations financial reporting regulatory compliance and financial an insurance and investment environment the role provides strong oversight of insurance accounting investment accounting portfolio reporting capital adequacy reserves and financial risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the financial control and accounting function.

Oversee monthly quarterly and annual financial close and reporting.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management accounts.

Establish and maintain effective internal controls accounting policies and financial procedures.

Oversee investment accounting including valuation income recognition and portfolio reconciliation.

Monitor insurance-related accounting including premiums claims reserves commissions and reinsurance transactions.

Manage budgeting forecasting variance analysis and financial performance reporting.

Monitor cash flow liquidity working capital and capital requirements.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards insurance regulations tax requirements and regulatory reporting.

Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings.

Work closely with investment risk actuarial treasury and business teams.

Provide financial analysis and insights to the CFO CEO and senior management.

Strengthen financial governance and identify control weaknesses.

Lead and develop the finance/accounting team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

1015 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.

Strong background in financial control financial reporting accounting audit and governance.

Experience in insurance banking asset management investment management or financial services preferred.

Practical knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio reporting is highly desirable.

Experience with regulatory reporting and financial-control frameworks.

Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and relevant insurance accounting requirements.

Professional qualification such as CA ACCA CPA CIMA or equivalent preferred.

Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.
