Senior Internal Auditor with German

The opportunity

This role is responsible for leading and executing internal audits for Worldlines German-regulated entities while being based in Rumania. The Senior Internal Auditor will focus on financial services and payments operations ensuring compliance with German laws and BaFin expectations includingZAG (Payment Services Supervision Act) ZAG-MaRisk (ZAG-Minimum Requirements for Risk Management).

Youll have the opportunity to work with Germany-regulated financial institutions while being based in Romania gaining valuable exposure to BaFin regulatory audits the payments industry and cross-border governance. This strategic role will allow you to contribute to strengthening internal controls and enhancing the risk culture across the organization while also offering a clear growth path toward an Audit Manager position.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Audit Planning & Delivery

• Plan execute and documentrisk-based internal auditsfor German legal entities and licensed payment institutions.
• Assess design and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Ensure all audits followIIA Standards internal methodologies and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory & Compliance Focus (Germany-Specific)

• Evaluate compliance withGerman regulatory requirements.
• Support regulatory inspections and external audits by preparing accurate audit findings and documentation.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Prepare high-quality audit reports inGerman and English clearly highlighting findings risks and actionable remediation steps.
• Follow up on remediation actions and ensure timely closure of identified issues.

Advisory & Risk Insights

• Contribute to annual audit risk assessment and planning specifically for theGerman entity portfolio.
• Support knowledge transfer to Poland-based audit team members regarding German regulatory frameworks.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business Law or related fields
• Minimum 4 years of internal audit experiencein Banking Payments or Financial Service
• Fluent German (written & spoken) mandatoryProfessional English required
• Must bebased in Romaniaor willing to relocate; open to hybrid/remote work
• Ability to travel occasionally to Germany for onsite audits

• Professional certifications:CIA CISA CRMA Wirtschaftsprüfer module (advantage)
