WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Full-Stack Ownership & Modernization

• Take ownership of both backend (Java/Oracle) and frontend development within the project.

• Contribute to the transition phase including knowledge transfer from the external supplier and stabilization of existing systems.

• Drive modernization initiatives across the stack from the legacy ExtJS frontend to the Java/Oracle backend and address performance bottlenecks.

• Actively contribute to architectural decisions spanning backend services and frontend applications.

Software Design & Development

• Design build and maintain scalable maintainable and high-performing software across the full stack.

• Design implement and maintain scalable modular and accessible UI components.

• Ensure clean integration between backend services and frontend applications following API-first and BFF patterns.

• Apply best practices in coding security performance and technical debt management.

Partnering with Product & Design

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to validate ideas estimate effort and assess feasibility.

• Balance business needs with technical realities when implementing solutions.

Delivery & Execution

• Deliver high-quality production-ready features reliably and on time end-to-end.

• Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker) for backend and frontend.

• Ensure high code quality through TDD code reviews and automated testing.

• Help identify and mitigate technical and operational risks early.

Innovation & Experimentation

• Support rapid prototyping and technical validation before full implementation.

• Support A/B testing and iterative development.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and suggest improvements.

Backend Engineering (Java / Oracle)

• Help stabilize a large legacy Java/Oracle application and support its gradual modularization over time.

• Develop and maintain Oracle stored procedures and triggers implementing business workflows and logic.

• Work with large complex database schemas (1000 tables) including schema design and migrations.

• Design and implement REST APIs; integrate with internal and external systems.

• Build file-processing capabilities (XML CSV Excel) and asynchronous workers/background jobs.

Frontend Engineering

• Contribute to frontend features primarily using modern frameworks as part of the roadmap to replace the legacy ExtJS frontend.

• Design accessible responsive UI components.

• Optimize applications for performance accessibility (a11y) and SEO.

WHAT YOU BRING ALONG

Architecture & System Design

• Understanding of cloud-native distributed systems (microservices DDD event-driven micro-frontend architectures).

• API-first mindset; experience with API Gateway and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.

• Familiarity with resiliency scalability and observability patterns.

Backend Engineering

• Highly proficient in Java SE and modern Java coding principles.

• Experience with the Spring Framework (not Spring Boot) e.g. Spring Core MVC and Context.

• Experience working on large complex Java projects with extensive dependencies using Maven (lifecycle and modules).

• Skilled in database modeling (SQL & NoSQL); strong hands-on experience with Oracle (stored procedures triggers complex schemas 1000 tables migrations).

• Proficient with Hibernate and Liquibase.

• Builds REST APIs (OpenAPI); experience with event-driven services (Kafka RabbitMQ NATS) is a plus.

Frontend Engineering

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Experience with at least one modern frontend framework (React Angular Svelte).

• Development of modular scalable responsive UI components.

• Focus on accessibility (a11y) performance optimization and SEO.

• Prior exposure to ExtJS is a plus not required.

Quality & Security

• Applies OWASP secure coding and threat-mitigation practices.

• Strong in TDD unit/integration/E2E testing code reviews and static analysis.

• Advanced knowledge of Git and version control workflows.

Cloud DevOps & Automation

• Hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud networking and IAM.

• Strong with Docker Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experienced with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus ELK/EFK OpenTelemetry).
