Job Description

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

  • Serve as a field-based scientific expert facilitating high-quality compliant medical exchanges with KOLs and HCPs in the territory for the relevant products and therapeutic area.
  • Execute Takedas medical strategy with a focus on scientific excellence omnichannel field engagement and agility driven by actionable insights.
  • Build and manage trusted long-term relationships with KOLs and other stakeholders communicating Takedas scientific and clinical value.
  • Contribute to local medical strategy and cross-functional medical initiatives supporting evidence generation lifecycle management and medical education.
  • Capture and relay structured high-value field insights to guide medical strategy and evidence needs.
  • Approve and process local educational and promotional materials and provide guidance for implementation of activities that drive patient and customer value.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement territory-specific scientific engagement plans aligned with product launch goals and therapeutic-area strategy.
  • Build and manage relationships with KOLs and other stakeholders effectively communicating Takedas scientific and clinical value.
  • Capture and relay structured high-value insights from HCPs to guide medical strategy and optimise field activities.
  • Articulate the scientific value proposition of products in patient-focused accessible terms (patient-centric storytelling).
  • Represent Medical Affairs at scientific events advisory boards and investigator meetings; support evidence generation initiatives.
  • Use CRM systems analytics and AI-powered platforms to tailor and enhance scientific engagements (digital data and omnichannel excellence).
  • Ensure all interactions comply with Takedas policies SOPs and regulatory/legal standards.
  • Maintain advanced therapeutic-area and product knowledge dedicating the majority of time to external KOL/HCP engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the local medical strategy in alignment with global and regional plans.
  • Act as a key medical partner to cross-functional teams (Marketing Market Access Sales Digital) providing medical input and scientific expertise.
  • Support medical launch activities lifecycle management and evidence generation activities (e.g. Phase IV studies RWE registries) as applicable.
  • Contribute to medical education and training (internally and externally) and support planning and execution of advisory boards and congresses.

Uses CRM data digital tools and AI to prioritise personalise and adapt quickly. Supports medical strategy through evidence generation and medical education.

EDUCATION BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD PhD or PharmD preferred; MSc acceptable).
  • Proven field medical (MSL) experience in competitive specialty markets ideally complemented by Medical Affairs experience.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and orchestrate cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong scientific communication digital/analytical and omnichannel engagement skills.
  • Experience contributing to medical strategy evidence generation or medical education.
  • Proficiency in English (regional languages an asset); willingness to travel up to 60-70%.
  • Full understanding of the regulatory legal and ethical framework for non-promotional medical engagement.

This role must be performed in full compliance with all applicable laws regulations and industry codes (e.g. EFPIA and the relevant national pharmaceutical industry code) and with Takedas policies SOPs and ethical standards.
