The Rotating Equipment Technician is responsible for performing maintenance repair overhaul and service activities on rotating equipment with a primary focus on centrifugal pumps. The role supports both workshop and field operations by carrying out technical tasks including equipment dismantling cleaning inspection measurement assembly testing installation and commissioning.
The Technician assists in diagnosing equipment issues performing preventive and corrective maintenance and ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with OEM recommendations quality standards and HSE requirements. Working closely with senior technicians and engineers the Technician contributes to the successful execution of operational plans and the delivery of safe reliable and high-quality service solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in workshop and site maintenance activities for rotating equipment primarily centrifugal pumps including dismantling cleaning inspection assembly testing installation and commissioning support.
- Support the preparation of equipment tools and spare parts to ensure efficient execution of maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist in the installation removal and replacement of centrifugal pumps and associated rotating equipment at customer sites.
- Support alignment activities using dial indicators and laser alignment equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Maintain accurate service records inspection reports job cards and maintenance documentation.
- Follow company procedures quality standards OEM recommendations and HSE requirements at all times.
- Ensure proper use handling and storage of tools measuring instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment in both workshop and field locations.
- Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to deliver safe reliable and high-quality maintenance services while continuously developing technical skills and knowledge.
QHSE Responsibilities
- Ensure all team members are aware of trained in and compliant with applicable QHSE standards regulations and company policies relevant to their work.
- Lead by example in promoting a safety-first culture and actively participate in all QHSE meetings cascading critical safety and environmental information to the team.
- Take prompt action to correct any unsafe or hazardous conditions and ensure that unresolved issues are escalated appropriately.
- Review and act on QHSE officer/coordinator observations and recommendations in a timely manner.
- Ensure all new team members complete their QHSE induction with the HSE Officer before beginning work.
- Conduct regular reviews of emergency response readiness including accessibility and usage of PPE and spill kits.
- Monitor team compliance with safety practices especially among new or less experienced staff and provide guidance and support where needed.
- Encourage active participation in QHSE programs and ensure that staff are given opportunities to contribute to safety improvements
- Refer OHSMS Manual section 4.4.1 for additional HSE roles responsibilities accountability and authority
Job-Specific Education & Certification
- Diploma Technical Certificate or ITI in Mechanical or related engineering discipline.

Skill
- Good understanding of centrifugal pump operation components and basic maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of mechanical seals bearings couplings and lubrication systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings assembly drawings and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers micrometers and dial indicators.
- Basic understanding of shaft alignment and rotating equipment balancing principles.
- Competent in the use of workshop tools equipment and safe maintenance practices.
- Ability to dismantle clean inspect and reassemble rotating equipment in accordance with standard procedures and OEM guidelines.
- Capable of selecting and using appropriate tools measuring instruments and consumables for maintenance activities.
- Ability to perform equipment inspections functional checks and record test results accurately.
- Skilled in completing maintenance checklists service reports and job documentation.
- Knowledge of LOTO permit-to-work systems and general site safety requirements
- Understanding proper handling protection storage and preservation of equipment components and spare parts.
- Ability to identify and report equipment defects maintenance findings and safety hazards to supervisors.

Experience & Requirements
- Relevant experience of minimum 3-5 years of working on centrifugal pumps (API610) OH BB & Vertical pumps and rotating equipment.
