Job Summary
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Trade Certificate / Specialized Trainings: Authorized electrical person (AEP)Minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus 3-years Diploma in electrical trade from recognized institute. Relevant work Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience of which at least 5 years under electrical technician role in Oil & Gas Industry / petrochemical / process plant. certificates being issued by electrical institutions or previous employer shall be preferred. Computer Skills: Computer literate with Microsoft Office software. Fluent Knowledge of English language (Speak Read and Write). Job Location onshore & offshore DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES A person who has the technical and leadership capabilities to manage and guide a group of people to execute their jobs safely and according to the required level of quality. Must have as a minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical maintenance work in the Oil & Gas or Power Generating industry of which at least 5 years must be at Electrical with TSF experience. Shall have a high level of awareness and understanding of the Electrical Safety Rules and Electrical Safety Procedures relevant to the electrical maintenance activities and temporary power supply installation. Should be able to direct effectively manage and organize a group of people of different nationalities. Must be able to prepare cable and earthing routing layouts produce a single line diagram for temporary electrical power applications. Must be conversant of fuses/MCBs selection to achieve discrimination between upstream and downstream temporary power equipment. Must be able to read write and speak English Language. Must be capable of executing QA/QC / HSE compliance audits on site procedures and HSE Plan. Must be able to work with computers utilizing Microsoft Windows and Office suite of Packages. Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification Ex standards and Ex Equipment. Must be fully aware of electrical materials used and the handling requirements of such items. Must have a good experience in cable installation termination splicing and cable glands installation work. Must have a sound knowledge in electrical safety and demonstrates an understanding of HSSE issues Shall be able to fully read and interpret electrical schematic and single line diagrams. Must be competent to work on both LV and HV systems. Must have a sound knowledge and experienced in maintenance and inspection of hazardous area electrical equipment. Responsible for delivery of toolbox talks to the technicians.
