Senior Transportation Planner

Position: Senior Transportation Planner

Duration: 6 Months

Key Responsibilities Areas and Activities of the Role

1. Urban Street Design

Service category includes the design of typical roadway design of pavement curb gutter sidewalks drainage improvements and reconstruction within developed areas. Selected consultants shall provide all engineering services for the preparation of plans specifications transportation planning in urban and rural areas and bid documents.

1. Rehabilitation Design

Secondee should have experience in all engineering services for the testing and evaluation of existing pavement sections all engineering services for the preparation of plans specifications and bid documents. Roadway rehabilitation projects may involve some minor structures and minimal right-of-way engineering.

1. Railway Engineering

Secondee should have experience in all engineering services to support railway engineering projects long distance rail projects and metro stations. Services will include but not limited to preliminary railway investigation desk study review railway design selecting the optimal alternative alignments and utility conflicts resolution.

1. Traffic Engineering:

Provide traffic studies and engineering solutions for traffic problems. Ability to work at the network level and project level. Traffic analysis and modeling for different level of project sizes. Secondee should have experience in all transportation modeling techniques.

Qualification Technical Skills and Competencies required to Execute this Role

• Engineering Graduate preferably master’s degree is an advantage.
• Knowledge of design and construction supervision services
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong communication skills (Arabic & English)
• Good planning and organization skills
• Strong attention to details
• Strong time management skills

Experience Required to Execute this Role

• 12 years of international experience of which 10 in Qatar in major infrastructure planning and design works with site construction experience.
• Experience within the Middle East
