Job Summary
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management on financial performance.
- Oversee accounts payable accounts receivable fixed assets and general ledger reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local tax regulations; coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
- Develop implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to strengthen financial governance.
- Mentor and guide junior accountants and accounting staff fostering professional development and team efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting forecasting and financial planning initiatives.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Support special projects such as system implementations audits and regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred.
- 35 years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables VLOOKUP macros).
- Strong understanding of GAAP SOX compliance and tax reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience with financial reporting systems and ERP platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
