Job Summary
Safety Inspector
Responsibilities:
- Inspect work sites equipment and activities to identify safety hazards and unsafe practices.
- Monitor compliance with site HSE procedures permit-to-work requirements and PPE standards.
- Check high-risk activities including lifting work at height and confined-space entry.
- Report safety observations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Maintain inspection records and prepare safety reports.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant safety inspection experience; oil and gas or industrial project experience preferred.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
- Knowledge of risk assessments permit-to-work systems and emergency procedures.
- Strong observation reporting and communication skills.
Required Skills:
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
