Rotating Technician
Job Summary
Rotating Technician Responsibilities
- Perform installation alignment and commissioning of rotating equipment such as pumps compressors turbines and motors.
- Conduct preventive predictive and corrective maintenance of all rotating machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults in rotating systems including bearings shafts couplings and seals.
- Perform vibration analysis shaft alignment and balancing to ensure equipment efficiency.
- Overhaul and rebuild pumps compressors turbines gearboxes and motors as required.
- Maintain maintenance records checklists and reports of all rotating machinery activities.
- Follow HSE guidelines permit-to-work procedures and safety protocols while working on equipment.
- Assist operations and project teams during shutdowns turnarounds and emergency repairs.
- Ensure spare parts and lubrication are managed correctly for optimal machine performance.
Requirements
Rotating Technician Requirements
- Education: Diploma / ITI / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 46 years of hands-on experience in rotating equipment maintenance in oil & gas power or industrial plants.
- Knowledge of rotating machinery components: pumps turbines compressors motors gearboxes fans and blowers.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings P&IDs and alignment diagrams.
- Skilled in precision measurement alignment and vibration analysis.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance tools and equipment including laser alignment tools and condition monitoring devices.
- Strong understanding of HSE practices and site safety regulations.
- Physically fit and able to work in offshore plant or high-risk industrial environments.
- Good communication teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Required Skills:
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
