Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Technician (Overhaul) to perform preventive corrective and overhaul maintenance activities on rolling stock systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety reliability and operational performance of trains by carrying out maintenance and testing activities in accordance with Maintenance Task Instructions (MTI) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive corrective and overhaul maintenance on rolling stock subsystems.
Execute maintenance and testing activities in accordance with MTI SOPs and maintenance manuals.
Diagnose troubleshoot and rectify faults in rolling stock mechanical and electrical systems.
Carry out propulsion system and electrical equipment maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety quality and operational standards.
Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities or defects to the Rolling Stock Team Leader.
Participate in major overhaul projects ensuring work is completed within specified timelines.
Complete maintenance reports inspection records and technical documentation accurately.
Use maintenance management systems and basic computer applications for reporting and record keeping.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and availability.
Adhere to workplace safety regulations and maintain a strong safety culture.
Work effectively in rotating shifts and respond to operational requirements when required.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringElectrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in rolling stock maintenance.
Experience in at least one major rolling stock overhaul project.
Strong knowledge of:
Propulsion systems
Electrical equipment maintenance
Mechanical maintenance of railway vehicles
Experience working on MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) systems.
Experience in GoA4 (Grade of Automation 4) train operations or maintenance is preferred.
Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Basic computer proficiency including MS Word and MS Excel.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Preferred Requirements
Experience working in metro or railway environments.
Middle East-issued driving licence is an advantage.
Familiarity with international railway maintenance standards and safety procedures.
Experience working in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is an advantage.
