Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical **Quantity Surveyor** to join our dynamic team in Lusail this role you will play a crucial part in managing cost planning estimating measurement and commercial analysis for construction projects. You will work collaboratively with project teams consultants and stakeholders to ensure accurate cost control competitive bidding and successful project delivery from pre-contract through execution phases.
- Review design drawings specifications and scope documents to understand project requirements and identify cost implications
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs at concept schematic and detailed design stages using recognized measurement standards
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and comprehensive cost estimates in compliance with industry standards (POMI NRM CESMM)
- Support the preparation of tender submissions cost schedules rate build-ups and commercial documentation
- Conduct thorough market research on material labor and subcontractor rates within Qatar and the wider GCC region
- Participate actively in value engineering exercises to identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality
- Analyze tender submissions and quotations from suppliers and subcontractors validating rates and ensuring commercial accuracy
- Provide transparent commercial risk assessments highlight discrepancies and raise clarifications with consultants and clients
- Maintain organized and accurate cost data benchmarks and historical records to support future project estimating
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor costs track variations and ensure timely delivery of all surveying outputs
- Support bid review meetings and negotiations presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and professional manner
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline
- Professional certification from a recognized body (e.g. MRICS CIOB) or actively working toward achieving this credential
- Minimum 5-8 years of professional experience in quantity surveying with demonstrated expertise in cost estimation and BOQ preparation
- Strong working knowledge of recognized measurement standards including POMI NRM and CESMM
- Proficiency in cost management software such as CostX or similar tools; MS Office proficiency is essential
- Proven track record in preparing accurate cost estimates conducting rate analysis and managing commercial aspects of construction projects
- Solid understanding of tendering procedures procurement processes and subcontractor pricing strategies
- Experience working on construction projects in the Middle East or GCC region is highly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to organize complex information manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams consultants and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of construction methodologies building codes and local Qatar construction practices is advantageous
