Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Inspect welding activities on marine structures piping decks and fabricated components.
- Verify compliance with approved WPS PQR drawings and project specifications.
- Check fit-up joint preparation welding parameters consumables and welder qualifications.
- Conduct visual inspection of completed welds and coordinate NDT activities where required.
- Review inspection reports welding records repair logs and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with welders fabricators supervisors and client/QC teams to close quality issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of QC Welding Inspection experience in marine projects.
- Experience on vessels barges shipyards ports or marine fabrication projects.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes defects inspection methods and applicable codes/standards.
- Familiar with WPS/PQR welder qualification NDT and welding documentation.
- CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent certification preferred.
- Good reporting inspection and communication skills.
Required Skills:
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
