Mechanical Technician (Utilities Plant & Product Handling)
Job Summary
- Perform preventive corrective and breakdown maintenance of utilities and product handling equipment.
- Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting of cooling towers boilers air compressors diesel engines pumps valves gearboxes and associated utility systems.
- Maintain and repair product handling equipment including conveyors reclaimers ship loaders storage systems and bulk material handling equipment.
- Perform inspection alignment overhauling lubrication and replacement of mechanical components.
- Support maintenance activities for desalination units ammonia loading systems and other utility plant equipment.
- Execute maintenance work according to approved procedures and safety standards.
- Diagnose equipment faults and ensure timely restoration of equipment availability.
- Maintain maintenance records and update work orders through CMMS/SAP systems.
- Follow PTW LOTO and all HSE requirements during maintenance activities.
- Ensure workplace cleanliness equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Diploma / ITI / Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on maintenance experience in Utilities Plants Fertilizer Plants Petrochemical Plants Power Plants Ports Bulk Material Handling Facilities Cement Plants Mining Plants or Heavy Industrial Facilities.
- Strong experience with cooling towers boilers compressors pumps conveyors reclaimers ship loaders and related mechanical equipment.
- Experience in preventive predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems is preferred.
- Good understanding of PTW LOTO and industrial safety practices.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment documentation.
- Good communication skills in English.
Required Skills:
Expertise in engine overhaul and repair. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
