Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
1. Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on field instruments.
2. Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system failures.
3. Repair and replace defective instruments and control components.
4. Maintain calibration records and maintenance reports.
Instrumentation Work
Install calibrate and test:
o Pressure transmitters
o Flow meters
o Level transmitters
o Temperature instruments
o Conductivity analyzers
o pH analyzers
o Chlorine analyzers
o Turbidity analyzers
Perform loop checking and signal verification.
Control & Automation Systems
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC RTU HMI SCADA DCS and control panels.
Assist in commissioning and startup activities.
Support control valve testing tuning and maintenance.
Diagnose communication and network-related control issues.
Qualification Requirements
Diploma or Technical Certificate in:
o Instrumentation Engineering
o Electronics Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Automation Technology
Additional certifications in PLC/SCADA or instrumentation are advantageous.
I&C Technicians Key Skills:
1. Knowledge of PROFIBUS communication protocols and troubleshooting
techniques.
2. Experience with PROFIBUS-based process instrumentation including pressure
transmitters level transmitters differential pressure transmitters and
electromagnetic flowmeters (EMF).
3. Knowledge of Festo panels Siemens PLCs and Yokogawa CENTUM VP DCS.
4. Hands-on experience with diagnostic and calibration tools including ProfiTrace
devices pressure calibrators and deadweight testers.
5. Working experience with analyzer instrumentation such as chlorine pH ORP
hardness and conductivity analyzers. Ability to read and interpret control wiring
diagrams I/O lists and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
6. Experience in RO (Reverse Osmosis) systems is optional but will be considered an
added advantage.
