Hydrographic Surveyor
Job Summary
Survey Planning: Plan and execute hydrographic surveys for offshore and coastal projects.
Data Collection: Operate survey equipment (multibeam echo sounders side-scan sonar GPS total stations) to collect accurate seabed and coastal data.
Charting & Mapping: Process survey data to produce nautical charts bathymetric maps and seabed models.
Positioning & Navigation: Ensure precise vessel positioning and navigation during survey operations.
Quality Control: Verify accuracy of survey data calibrate instruments and maintain compliance with international standards.
Reporting: Prepare survey reports charts and documentation for clients and regulatory authorities.
Safety Compliance: Follow offshore HSE protocols permit-to-work systems and ensure safe survey operations.
Coordination: Work closely with project managers geophysicists and offshore teams to deliver survey outputs.
Strong knowledge of hydrographic survey methods bathymetry and geospatial data processing.
Proficiency in survey software (Hypack QINSy AutoCAD GIS).
Familiarity with GPS DGPS RTK and acoustic positioning systems.
Ability to interpret and process large datasets into usable charts and maps.
Effective communication and teamwork skills in offshore environments.
Bachelors degree in Hydrography Geomatics Civil Engineering or Surveying.
Minimum 57 years of hydrographic survey experience preferably offshore.
IHO/FIG Hydrographic Survey Certification (Category A/B).
BOSIET / HUET Offshore Survival Training.
ISO 9001 Quality Awareness.
Marine Safety & Navigation Training.
