Gold Smith

A Goldsmith is a skilled craftsperson who designs creates repairs and restores jewelry and other items made from gold and precious metals. They use specialized tools and techniques to shape solder polish engrave and set gemstones while ensuring high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manufacture gold jewelry according to customer or company specifications.
• Repair resize polish and restore gold jewelry and precious metal items.
• Set diamonds and other gemstones securely into jewelry.
• Melt cast solder and shape gold and other precious metals.
• Inspect finished products for quality accuracy and durability.
• Maintain and operate jewelry-making tools and equipment safely.
• Keep accurate records of materials used and completed work.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a goldsmith or jewelry maker.
• Strong knowledge of jewelry manufacturing and repair techniques.
• Ability to work with gold silver platinum and precious gemstones.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to interpret jewelry designs and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of jewelry finishing polishing and quality control.
• High school diploma or vocational training in jewelry making is preferred.
