We are looking for an experienced GIS Installation Supervisor with strong expertise in the installation assembly testing and commissioning support of 400kV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) preferably Siemens 8DQ1-6 systems.

The candidate will supervise site installation activities ensure compliance with approved drawings and manufacturer procedures coordinate with electrical teams and commissioning engineers and maintain strict quality and safety standards throughout the project.

• Supervise the installation assembly alignment and erection of 400kV GIS equipment at high-voltage substations.

• Manage installation activities for Siemens 8DQ1-6 GIS or equivalent 400kV GIS systems.

• Ensure proper execution of the one-and-a-half breaker scheme including associated GIS bays circuit breakers disconnectors earthing switches and busbar sections.

• Review and interpret electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) general arrangement drawings layout drawings wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation manuals.

• Coordinate GIS installation activities with civil electrical protection and control testing and commissioning teams.

• Supervise GIS enclosure assembly conductor connections busbar installation and gas compartment preparation.

• Monitor SF gas handling evacuation vacuuming gas filling and gas quality checks in accordance with manufacturer procedures and environmental requirements.

• Ensure proper installation of control cables auxiliary circuits interlocks earthing connections and associated electrical components.

• Coordinate pre-commissioning checks mechanical and electrical inspections and testing activities with the commissioning team.

• Verify installation quality maintain inspection records prepare daily progress reports and resolve site technical issues.

• Ensure compliance with approved method statements inspection and test plans (ITPs) project specifications and applicable IEC standards.

• Enforce site HSE requirements permit-to-work procedures electrical isolation and high-voltage safety precautions.

• Coordinate with the client consultant subcontractors and OEM representatives to ensure timely completion of installation milestones.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in electrical substation installation with significant hands-on experience in high-voltage GIS.

• Proven experience supervising 220kV/400kV GIS installation projects.

• Experience with Siemens 8DQ1-6 GIS systems is highly preferred.

• Practical knowledge of the one-and-a-half breaker substation configuration.

• Strong understanding of GIS assembly SF gas handling electrical interlocking earthing systems and installation quality procedures.

• Familiarity with IEC standards and high-voltage substation safety requirements.

• Experience working on utility power transmission or major substation projects is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings installation manuals and testing documentation.

• Good communication team coordination reporting and troubleshooting skills.

• Previous experience with Siemens 400kV GIS installation and OEM-supervised projects.

• Experience on Qatar power transmission or utility substation projects.

• Knowledge of Qatar utility/client requirements and substation safety procedures.

• Experience coordinating with testing and commissioning teams during energization preparation.
