Fire Shift Leader
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire toxic gas release rescue medical and other emergency situations.
- Act as Incident Commander until relieved by the Lead Fire Officer / HSE Fire & Rescue Team Leader.
- Lead and supervise firefighters and emergency response teams during incidents.
- Ensure fire vehicles tools rescue equipment and emergency systems are ready for use.
- Supervise daily fire station activities training drills and emergency exercises.
- Investigate incidents and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
- Ensure emergency preparedness pre-fire plans and response procedures are properly maintained.
- Provide fire standby support for hot work confined space entry and hazardous activities.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations Fire Service procedures and HSE Management System requirements.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- Strong knowledge of firefighting rescue emergency response and fire loss control.
- Valid firefighting certifications and licences as required.
- Experience in power generation desalination Oil & Gas or similar industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations fire alarm systems and fire ground procedures.
- Good leadership command control and team supervision skills.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments inspections investigations and prepare reports.
- Good computer communication presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driving licence / ability to drive.
- Physically and mentally fit to work in demanding industrial and emergency conditions.
Required Skills:
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
