Electrical Technician
Job Summary
Perform preventive predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair:
o Motors and pumpso Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)o Switchgear and transformers
o Power distribution systems (LV/MV)
o PLC and SCADA-related electrical components
Inspect test and maintain electrical panels breakers relays and control circuits.
Assist in plant start-up shutdown and commissioning activities.
Monitor plant electrical performance and identify potential failures.
Read and interpret electrical drawings single-line diagrams and wiring schematics.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems.
Coordinate with operations mechanical and instrumentation teams to minimize downtime.
Maintain maintenance records reports and spare-parts inventory.
Support emergency breakdown maintenance on a shift basis.
Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
35 years (or as specified) of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Experience in water treatment wastewater treatment or desalination plants Oil & gas / industrial backgrounds are preferred.
Knowledge of:
o PLC systemso SCADA systemso VFDs
o MCCso LV/MV electrical systems
o Electrical safety standards and procedures.
