Demand Forecast & Planning Operator
Job Summary
- Support the development production and delivery of accurate inventory forecasts using data analysis and scenario/options modelling to inform strategic decision making and determine the inventory requirements for the fleet.
- Support the development and delivery of the DF&P capabilities (including IT infrastructure) ensuring alignment to current and future business strategies.
- Support the management of inventory through planning stock positioning monitoring item condition and ensuring product availability balancing service against budget.
- Support under supervision the ability to minimise expenditure through the exploration of all alternative sources of supply. The ability to determine the most appropriate asset solution (repair overhaul or provide spare). The ability to provide repair scheduling tasking into repair bay facilities.
- Support the maintaining of forecasting parameters to include calculation methods and parts classification (ABC Analysis). The ability to enact purchase order requests with appropriate and affordable supply chain solutions through an approval process.
- Support the planning of components into maintenance to ensure compliance with the Operator Maintenance Programme Mandated requirements applicable technical instructions and capability embodiment programmes.
- Support the ability to define and maintain forecasting parameters to include calculation methods and parts classification (ABC analysis).
- Support the ability to enact purchase order requests with appropriate and affordable supply chain solutions through an approval process.
- Ensure both internal and external customers receive the level of service expected of business KPIs; specifically the QEAF Typhoon Fleet receives what they need on time and to the highest quality.
- Conduct analysis and interpretation of Supply Chain data to identify repetitive problems and inform appropriate stakeholders. Where appropriate support the implementation of any corrective action.
- Mentoring the QEAF staff as they join the MOB Organisation from the Qatar Technical Institute.
- Performance indicators Provide effective provision of DF&P activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting on any impact on Continuing Airworthiness operational/process performance. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance.
- Completion of activities Ensure all DF&P activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting identify any issues and escalate as appropriate.
- Procedure/standards Comply with the MAI CAME its associated procedures and standards and any other AM&S or company procedures and standards as applicable. Identify and propose changes as required.
- Safety Management System Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all DF&P activities. Understand the risks associated with DF&P and the means by which they are mitigated and managed.
- Management System Assurance Ensure DF&P activities are compliant with the Governance and Assurance framework including supporting process confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness.
- Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory-driven changes into the DF&P activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements e.g. ITAR EaPW ISO etc.
- Contractual Requirements Ensure compliance with applicable contractual requirements e.g. through support to contract reviews and the incorporation of required changes into the DF&P processes.
- Regulatory Framework understanding and the ability to manage this framework structure into the DF&P processes and activities.
- Able to build strong relationships with Customers Part 145 Organisation(s) Order Book Management OEMs Suppliers and other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the platform contract(s) terms of reference for those Direct and Indirect aspects related to the headline KPIs.
- Demonstrate operational and commercial understanding of the fleets performance and business key performance metrics.
- Able to encourage/champion a Continuous Improvement culture and develop/enhance the underpinning management reporting systems.
- Able to support the implementation of an efficient and cost effective DF&P strategy.
- Provide support to the DF&P team(s) on forecasting & planning related issues.

- This person would be seen as competent in the field of operational supply chain activities be able to define the processes propose improvements and manage those improvements into the day to day running of the operation.
- Recent experience to a level appropriate for the role in support of Maintenance /after sales market environments
- Valid Driving Licence
- Institute of Supply Chain Management Level 3 NVQ3 or its equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Required Skills:
Comply with the latest issue of the BAE SYSTEMS Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and general awareness of the defence logistics framework and associated procedures in relation to the movement of all logistics items Receive all items checking that all required documentation is present and correct and that the packaging is intact. Check that part numbers on documentation matches that marked on the part or parts packaging Quarantine any non-conforming items for appropriate investigation action. Record receipts using the electronic stock accounting systems and procedures currently in operation Place stores and parts demands as required on IMS Maintain the preservation of materials and equipment whilst in storage or transit Ensure the storage handling and movement of hazardous materials is carried out as defined within hazard data sheets and mandated procedures Pick pack and deliver parts requests to the customer checking the right parts are delivered to the right place at the right time safely including line side replenishment Coordination of any Tasking requests that require forklift/vehicle support providing that support and liaising with the requestor to ensure any access or support issues are addressed prior to the activity Coordination of Forward Delivery activities ensuring the QEAF members of staff know where to deliver to and where to collect from Protect any materials for dispatch against transit damage Identify and report inabilities of supply items to all relevant teams Be able to coordinate and assist in the preparation of detachment pack ups Assist in programmed/adhoc Stock Taking activities Performing and understanding investigation activities on IMS to assist in and resolve any stock discrepancies Deliver a Direct Line Feed (DLF) service to Depth and Forward supplying and replenishing all consumable requirements including POL. Ensure the DLF Forward and Depth visit schedule is adhered to preventing any consumable racks or POL in-use lockers from reaching nil stock Maintain the physical storage issue and receipt into and out of stock of all POL items Conduct Warehouse husbandry and building oversite checks Carry out shift work as required in rotation Mentoring QEAF Team members of the Team in effective and safe Supply Chain Operations including monitoring of IMS inputs by the QEAF
