Civil Inspector
Job Summary
- Inspect all civil and structural works including foundations concrete structures refractory installations grouting paving drainage systems and plant buildings across the QAFCO fertilizer complex
- Monitor and inspect refractory lining installation and repair activities in furnaces reactors and high-temperature equipment in accordance with API 936 and manufacturer specifications
- Verify concrete mix designs pour records cube testing reinforcement placement and formwork in compliance with ACI BS 8110 and QAFCO civil engineering standards
- Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) Method Statements and material submittals; ensure all civil works conform to approved drawings and project specifications
- Identify structural deficiencies construction non-conformances and workmanship defects; raise NCRs and monitor corrective and preventive actions to closure
- Coordinate with contractors structural engineers and QAFCO project/maintenance teams during shutdowns and turnarounds to complete civil inspection scope within schedule
- Maintain accurate inspection records daily reports test certificates and civil history files in SAP PM or equivalent CMMS in compliance with QAFCO documentation requirements
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- API 936 (Refractory Installation Quality Control Inspector) certification (mandatory)
- 57 years of hands-on civil inspection experience in the Oil & Gas or Fertilizer industry; ammonia/urea or petrochemical plant experience is highly preferred
- Proven plant experience including shutdown/turnaround civil inspections refractory installation structural integrity assessments and foundation inspection of rotating and static equipment
- In-depth knowledge of civil and structural standards: ACI 318 ACI 301 BS 8110 ASTM and applicable QAFCO engineering standards and specifications
- Experience with cathodic protection inspection underground piping civil works and plant drainage systems in a live process plant environment
- Familiarity with SAP PM or equivalent CMMS for maintaining civil inspection records work orders and equipment history
- Candidates available to join immediately are strongly preferred
Required Skills:
Valid Electrical License Certificate (issued by a recognized authority); QAFCO or QP vendor approval is an advantage 35 years of hands-on experience in electrical motor maintenance within the Oil & Gas or Fertilizer industry Proven plant experience including turnaround/shutdown maintenance working in hazardous classified areas and handling process-critical rotating equipment Working knowledge of VFDs MCC panels motor starters and basic understanding of SCADA/DCS systems Experience with SAP PM for maintenance planning and reporting Candidates available to join immediately are strongly preferred
