Business Setup and Operations Officer
Job Summary
The Business Setup & Operations Officer will support the establishment and launch of a new online toy retail business in Qatar. The company will import toys from China and sell directly to customers through its online store while also supplying retailers through a B2B wholesale model.
The role will act as the business owners key coordination point ensuring that registration compliance technology logistics inventory pricing and operational requirements are completed before launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the companys business setup status and confirm that all required registrations licences and approvals are complete.
- Follow up on commercial registration import code municipality approvals and other business compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with the website and e-commerce technology provider to ensure the online store payment process and delivery integration are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate with suppliers freight partners customs agents and logistics providers regarding incoming inventory.
- Track shipment status customs clearance warehousing and storage arrangements.
- Establish basic operating procedures for:
- Order processing
- Inventory tracking
- Customer service
- Returns and exchanges
- Delivery coordination
- Support the preparation and finalization of product catalogues descriptions and pricing.
- Calculate landed product costs including product price shipping customs charges and other applicable fees.
- Assist in developing both B2C and B2B sales channels.
- Coordinate with or supervise future sales personnel once appointed.
- Establish simple financial tracking systems covering sales costs margins and operating expenses.
- Maintain a launch checklist and provide regular progress updates to the business owner.
- Identify potential risks delays compliance gaps and operational blockers.
- Recommend practical corrective actions to ensure the business launches on time.
- Coordinate meetings and follow-ups with technology providers suppliers logistics companies and other external partners.

- Previous experience setting up launching or managing a small business retail operation or e-commerce company in Qatar.
- Good knowledge of Qatar business registration commercial licensing and compliance procedures.
- Familiarity with import documentation customs clearance and logistics processes.
- Experience coordinating with multiple service providers including technology companies suppliers freight forwarders and warehouses.
- Understanding of e-commerce operations order fulfilment inventory management and customer service.
- Basic financial knowledge including costing margins pricing and spreadsheet-based tracking.
- Strong organizational and project-coordination skills.
- Ability to independently manage tasks deadlines and follow-up activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify risks before they affect the launch.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language ability is preferred.
- Must be available for regular progress meetings and occasional in-person meetings in Doha.
