Job Summary

Advanced Process Control Specialist
Job Purpose / Objective

Support company operations through ongoing monitoring analysis and improvement of the Advanced Process Control (APC) schemes to ensure optimized operational performance and asset integrity.

Key Accountabilities
APC Monitoring & Improvement
  • Monitor and analyse the mid and long-term technical performance of APC against internal and external benchmarks to ensure ongoing optimisation.
  • Identify recurring APC problems and/or limitations and proposes initiatives to ensure the development of sustainable solutions and capture various optimization opportunities.
  • Participate and lead Management of Change (MOC) for advance process control related changes support other plant and process changes from a process control perspective.
  • Track mid and long-term process technical performance using – among others – predefined and agreed technical and economical KPIs and assesses process control impact on the actual performance.
  • Provide guidance to Operations on the general and long-term advance process control strategy for specific units or sub-units to ensure optimized units.
  • Conduct internal and external process control and APC studies to ensure company alignment to industry leading practices.
  • Ensure that the ethylene unit and other units’ APC are optimized and operating at high uptime.
  • Participate and help lead the digital transformation initiatives for company.
Policies Systems Processes & Procedures
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implement all relevant Section’s policies processes procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality Health Security Safety and Environment
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality health safety security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Reporting
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements policies and standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Education

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Control Engineering

Preferred:
Experience

Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the O&G Industry out of which 3 years at an Analyst level in Advanced Process Control. Required ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing experience.

Preferred:
Experience in Petrochemicals Industry
