Spark Engineer (Freelance)

We are looking for experienced Apache Spark Engineers interested in freelance opportunities on the French-speaking European market.

We are an agency representing talented IT professionals from Poland and Ukraine on the major French Belgian and Swiss markets. We help independent IT professionals access opportunities on leading French-speaking platforms and with end clients while managing the commercial relationship on their behalf.

This allows engineers to focus on delivery while we handle positioning client communication commercial discussions and opportunity management.

Your profile

• You are based in Poland or Ukraine
• You are available for freelance or B2B contract work
• You have solid professional experience with Apache Spark
• You can work remotely with international clients
• You speak fluent English (must-have)
• You are reliable autonomous and comfortable working in client-facing environments

• Develop and maintain large-scale data processing applications using Apache Spark.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design data pipelines and workflows.
• Optimize Spark applications for performance and scalability in cloud environments.
• Implement data transformations aggregations and data cleansing processes.
• Conduct code reviews and provide guidance on best practices for Spark development.

What we are looking for

We are interested in Apache Spark Engineers with experience in areas such as:

• Large-scale data processing with Apache Spark
• PySpark and/or Scala development
• Batch and streaming data pipelines
• Spark SQL data transformations and performance optimization
• Databricks Hadoop or cloud-based data platforms
• Data lakes lakehouse architectures and ETL/ELT workflows
• Cloud environments such as AWS Azure or GCP
• Technologies such as Kafka Delta Lake dbt Snowflake or BigQuery
