(Senior) Backend Developer (fmd)

What you will do:

• Architect develop and deploy back- and front-end Python applications integrating our battery optimizer into Axpos IT infrastructure

• Enhance our mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) optimization engine customizing it for battery projects across different countries and markets

• Advise and support team members on software engineering best practices and design patterns

• Collaborate with internal teams across Europe and align with external software providers to ensure seamless system integration

• Serve as a point of contact for internal users of our optimization software addressing questions and requests

• Coordinate and implement software changes and updates to meet user needs

What you bring & who you are:

• University degree in computer science engineering mathematics natural sciences or a related discipline

• You have 3 years of experience in Python or another object-oriented language ideally as a software engineer in the energy sector or a related field

• Experience with backend development in distributed systems using REST APIs and message queues e.g. FastAPI and Azure Service Bus

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code to ship containerized software to the cloud ideally Terraform Azure and Docker; experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus

• Youre comfortable with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD code reviews and automated testing

• Ideally you bring experience with mathematical optimization (especially MILP) Databricks frontend development or SQL
