Senior Architect

Job Overview:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining the overall architecture of our IT systems to support the organizations current and future needs. The Senior Architect will have a strong background in IT infrastructure systems integration and software development with the ability to analyze complex problems and design innovative solutions. He/she will be responsible for providing strategic direction designing complex IT solutions and mentoring junior architects.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the organizations IT architecture framework ensuring alignment with business objectives industry best practices and emerging technologies.

• Lead the development and maintenance of the organizations IT architecture framework ensuring alignment with business objectives industry best practices and emerging technologies.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to architecture and development teams ensuring adherence to architectural principles standards and guidelines.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.

• Design end-to-end IT solutions including infrastructure applications data and security components to support business processes and workflows.

• Evaluate and recommend technologies tools and methodologies to enhance the organizations IT capabilities and drive innovation.

• Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles standards and guidelines.

• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and issues through proactive planning and effective communication with stakeholders.

• Define and maintain documentation related to IT architecture including diagrams standards policies and procedures.

• Stay current with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in IT architecture and apply knowledge to drive continuous improvement.

• Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality scalable data products.

• And all other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.

• Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required):

• 6 years of experience in Enterprise Business Information Systems and Application Solution Architectures.

• Strong expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale IT solutions across multiple platforms and technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and their services.

• Proficiency in system integration techniques including API design microservices architecture and message queuing protocols.

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform Ansible or Puppet.

• Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

• Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.

• Experience in pharmaceutical R and D clinical development and/or healthcare IT.
