We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to design develop and maintain industrial automation and control systems for subsea applications. The role involves PLC and SCADA/HMI software development system integration communication network configuration and participation in testing and commissioning activities. You will play a key role in ensuring that solutions meet customer requirements industry standards and Baker Hughes quality expectations.

As a Lead Automation Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Developing software for industrial automation systems and designing maintaining and servicing automation solutions for subsea oil and gas production systems.

  • Configuring communication interfaces applications and system components and providing support in identifying and resolving issues and abnormalities within industrial automation systems.

  • Analyzing and interpreting customer requirements.

  • Preparing project specifications and test procedures.

  • Participating in verification and quality reviews of automation systems.

  • Collaborating with Project Managers on project scope definition and schedule execution.

  • Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT/eFAT) as well as the installation and commissioning of automation systems.

  • Cooperating with customers suppliers and cross-functional Baker Hughes teams (electronics hydraulics mechanical engineering and systems engineering) to ensure compliance with customer requirements industry standards and Baker Hughes quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field and a few years of experience in a similar role.

  • Be fluent in English both written and spoken (C1 level).

  • Have experience in designing and servicing SCADA/HMI systems and integrating them with PLC controllers and automation systems (Wonderware InTouch Proficy GE Cimplicity Siemens PCS7 Ignition SCADA Beckhoff TwinCAT).

  • Have experience in developing and maintaining PLC software (Allen Bradley ControlLogix Siemens S7-300 Siemens S7-1500 Beckhoff) as well as working with industrial communication networks and protocols (Modbus Profibus EtherNet/IP CAN).

  • Possess knowledge of OPC server technologies configuration and diagnostics as well as P&ID diagrams and instrumentation drawings.

  • Be proficient in software development using high-level programming languages such as C/C C# and Python.

  • Be willing to travel internationally for business purposes (10-15% of working time) and be able to perform effectively under time pressure.

  • Demonstrate a self-motivated and proactive approach strong communication skills a positive problem-solving mindset and the ability to quickly learn and independently expand technical expertise.

For Poland: The initial pay range for this position will be PLN 166400 To 228800. There are no provisions of any collective agreement relating to pay which will be applied to this position.
