The information security intern works closely with the information security team to operate a comprehensive information security program. This includes measuring compliance with security policies processes and standards. The security intern works will construct and monitor technical controls that meet specific security requirements and ensure that security configurations are maintained.
The security intern will report to an information security manager while also working closely with IT infrastructure and applications teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
Works with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks.
Provides reports to IT security management concerning residual risk vulnerabilities and other security exposures including misuse of information assets and noncompliance with security policy.
Assists in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation.
Works with Dolbys IT department and members of the information security team to identify select and implement technical controls.
Assists security administrators and IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
Monitors daily or weekly reports and security logs for unusual events.
Researches and assesses new threats and security alerts and recommends remedial actions.
Qualifications
Interest in documenting security architecture and plans including strategic tactical and project plans.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management and experience with creating and managing project plans.
Technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems (Windows and Unix) and interest in learning security technologies such as network security appliances identity and access management (IAM) systems anti-malware solutions automated policy compliance tools and desktop security tools.
Interest in developing documenting and maintaining security policies processes procedures and standards.
Familiarity with network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and the associated network protocols and concepts.
