Position Overview

As a Data Engineer youll be central to our clients data transformation initiatives. Youll

assess existing applications collaborate with architects to define target cloud

architectures and lead development teams through the transition from legacy systems to

modern Azure-based platforms. Your work will directly impact how organisations leverage

their data improve operational efficiency and gain competitive advantage through cloud-

native

Assess current applications and work with architects to develop clear

transformation strategies and roadmaps

Determine application complexity and estimate effort required for successful

migration projects

Collaborate with architects to design optimal target architectures aligned with

business objectives

Plan and prioritise development team backlogs to ensure structured efficient

project delivery

Guide development teams through application transition from planning phase to

full implementation

Support customer user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and resolve technical

issues

Evaluate data migration approaches and recommend best practices for your

clients specific needs

Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

8 to 10 years experience working as a data engineer or in a similar technical role

Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric and PySpark for data processing and

transformation

Strong hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services and Azure SQL or

PostgreSQL databases

Demonstrated expertise building and consuming REST APIs and data integration

APIs

Practical experience with OneLake and Delta Lake data platforms

Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) concepts

Ability to assess application complexity and plan technical transformation activities

Desirable experience:

Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases

Background in application or data migration projects

DevOps experience on Azure including container orchestration (AKS)
