We are currently looking for an MSL Lead (CVRM) to join our Medical Affairs team in Poland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in strengthening AstraZenecas position in the cardiovascular renal and metabolic (CVRM) therapy area while shaping impactful medical initiatives and supporting the development of a high-performing field medical team. This role reports directly to the CVRM Therapy Area Lead.

What you will do

As MSL Lead you will work closely with the Therapy Area Lead Medical Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to shape and deliver the medical strategy for the CVRM therapy area. You will lead the MSL team support high-quality scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and key external experts and help drive initiatives that improve patient care and outcomes across the healthcare system.

You will also play an important role in coaching and developing team members building strong strategic and functional capabilities and ensuring the team delivers on key priorities with excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-create and implement the medical strategy in partnership with the Medical TA Lead relevant Medical Managers and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Identify unmet medical needs and evidence gaps and help design medical solutions that support better patient care and treatment outcomes

  • Lead the MSL team in scientific engagement with healthcare professionals and key external experts across both marketed products and molecules in clinical development

  • Support transforming care initiatives by engaging relevant healthcare stakeholders in projects that improve therapeutic outcomes

  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of key team objectives

  • Coach mentor and develop team members to strengthen both strategic thinking and functional excellence

  • Drive capability development planning in collaboration with the Therapy Area Lead

Minimum requirements

  • Masters degree in life sciences or a related field

  • At least 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs

  • Experience in product launches or in the development and execution of medical strategy

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to lead scientific discussions and communicate scientific content effectively to different audiences

  • Very good command of English and Polish

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare system

  • Valid driving license

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in biology pharmacy medicine or a related discipline

  • Advanced scientific degree in life sciences or a related field

  • Experience as a Medical Manager Medical Advisor MSL or in a similar Medical Affairs role

  • Experience managing a field Medical team

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
