Country Analytics and Portfolio Optimization Lead

We offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs such as workshops conferences town halls team meetings and other collaborative events.

The position is a fixed-term contract until October 31 2027.

The Opportunity

At Roche Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG) we are determined to transform drug development and realize our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden by 2029.

As a Country Analytics and Portfolio Optimization Lead you will play a critical role in ensuring that operational analytics are effectively utilized and implemented to support business objectives and decision making. You will implement APO solutions ensure data-driven decisions and monitor portfolio performance for proactive mitigation. Operating at a project-specific or departmental level you will tackle complex business problems and deliver quality outputs that drive short-term outcomes and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead with Analytics: You will translate business requirements into technological solutions. You will proactively identify complex business problems that may benefit from analytical applications.

  • Drive Performance: You will continuously monitor and optimize the performance and efficiency of portfolio delivery. You will assess portfolio performance and develop meaningful operational KPIs based on internal and external data.

  • Foster Data Literacy: You will serve as the primary contact for portfolio analytics questions. You will foster data literacy by helping teams understand and confidently use data building a culture of trust through improved data transparency.

  • Collaborate and Partner: You will build effective partnerships and collaborations within and outside of the home function. You will lead or co-lead cross-functional teams that deliver analytical solutions designed to address a specific business problem.

  • Champion Patient-Centricity: You will drive patient-centricity throughout clinical operations by always putting the needs of the patient and the investigator first.

Who You Are

  • Education & Experience: You hold a Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Life Sciences Education Business). You possess 7 years of work experience with a Bachelors 5 years with a Masters or 3 years with a PhD/JD.

  • Clinical Operations Expertise: You have an in-depth understanding of clinical operations and the drug development process. You possess knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Data & Technology Proficiency: You have a solid grasp of Roches data architecture including databases and analytics platforms. You apply standard statistical and data analysis techniques to process data and derive insights. You show a willingness to adapt to new tools techniques and methodologies and are highly proficient in leveraging modern technologyincluding AI agentsto drive data analysis and operational efficiency.

  • Analytical Thinking: You are able to independently generate insights from imperfect datasets that meet business needs. You understand the nuances of operational data and what level of precision is required to deliver meaningful value.

  • Global & Inclusive Mindset: You have experience working across multiple cultures and countries with a strong appreciation for diversity and inclusion. You have persuasive written and verbal communication skills easily communicating complex ideas.

  • Independent Leadership: You operate with minimal oversight and know when and who to ask for help. You take initiative when opportunities arise and make decisions with minimal guidance.
