The purposeof the role is to provide legal counseling and advice to the Illicit Trade Prevention (ITP) team in the Region ensuring that the business strategies account for adequate controls to prevent the illicit trade of PMI products safeguarding the Companys reputation and business and the value of our brands against counterfeiting and unfair competition.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Law degree with strong academic credentials.
  • Previousadmission to practice law.
  • 5-year experience as a market and/or functional lawyer with commercial intellectual property regulatory and/or litigation matters in multinational corporations.
  • Strong preference for prior experience in addressing illicit trade issues on excisable or regulated consumer goods ( tobacco petrol telecom or pharma).
  • Ability to interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders in different countries including authorities suppliers outside counsels organizations bar associations academia/universities and competitors.
  • Ability to lead the work with limited supervision
  • Strong communication influence and analytical and organizational skills.
  • Great collaborator on project-based work.
  • Ability to efficiently manage assigned legal fee budget.
  • Ability to take data-driven decisions.
  • Flexible to adapt to new realities and able to take decisions even in uncertainties.
  • Fluent in English (very good Polish is a plus)

YOUR TASKS:

  • Ensure effective support to Markets in the Region in compliance with anti-diversion policies and anti-illicit trade regulations
  • Cooperate with law enforcement authorities and support actions against illicit trade
  • Advise Markets on diversion risk assessment and supply chain controls
  • Secure registration of trademarks and design rights with Customs authorities
  • Support enforcement activities (seizures raids destruction of counterfeit products)
  • Contribute to negotiating and drafting agreements with law enforcement authorities and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate on legal strategies and proceedings against illicit trade
  • Develop regulatory solutions and tools to combat illicit resellers
  • Support trainings for law enforcement authorities and provide expertise in investigations
