Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to lead the design and delivery of their AWS-based data infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior data architect with 10 years experience to take ownership of critical data strategy initiatives and shape how the organisation manages processes and leverages data at scale.

Position Overview

As Platform Architect you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures that support the organisations evolving business needs. You will manage data ingestion storage processing and consumption across multiple layers ensuring solutions are secure compliant cost-effective and performant. This role is central to enabling the organisations data-driven culture and supporting teams across data engineering data science and business analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data architectures on AWS including lakehouse and data mesh patterns tailored to business requirements

• Develop and optimise data models using SQL and NoSQL stores including Amazon Redshift DynamoDB RDS and S3

• Build scalable ETL and ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data using AWS Glue Lambda Kinesis Kafka Python and PySpark

• Implement data security compliance and governance frameworks including Lake Formation IAM policies and CloudTrail monitoring

• Perform performance tuning and cost optimisation across large-scale data lakes and cloud infrastructure

• Collaborate with data science engineering and business teams to define requirements and translate strategy into technical delivery

• Establish best practices and standards for data architecture across the organisation

Requirements

• 10 years experience in data architecture data engineering or related roles

• Proven expertise designing and implementing data architectures on AWS

• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift DynamoDB RDS S3 Glue Lambda and Kinesis

• Demonstrated experience building ETL and ELT pipelines using Kafka Python and PySpark

• Solid understanding of data security compliance and governance frameworks

• Experience with lakehouse and data mesh architectural patterns

• Knowledge of FinOps and infrastructure cost optimisation

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
