UXUI Specialist Mobile App
Job Summary
This is a remote position.
About us
Ancient Remedies is a fast-growing DTC wellness brand serving millions of customers across the US UK CA and AU. We recently launched a subscription mobile app and are building a dedicated team to turn it into a core part of our customer experience and revenue.
The role
You will own UX and UI design for our mobile app. The product works - now it needs to convert. Our immediate priorities are the onboarding journey and the paywall: the current onboarding is too long and the paywall doesnt sell the benefits of the app clearly enough. Your job is to fix that then keep raising the bar across every screen.
This is a specialist role for someone with deep demonstrated mobile app design experience - not a generalist who does design among other things. Youll work alongside an App Manager who runs delivery so your time goes into design not project management.
What youll do
Own end-to-end design for the app: user flows wireframes high-fidelity UI and prototypes in Figma
Redesign the onboarding flow: shorten the journey sharpen the value communication and get users to the aha faster
Redesign the paywall: make the benefits of subscribing unmissable and measurably lift conversion
Design against data: partner with the team on funnel analytics and A/B tests and iterate based on what converts not what looks nice
Maintain a clean consistent design system for the app
Hand off pixel-perfect specs to developers and review builds for design fidelity
Audit the existing app for UX debt and propose a prioritized fix list
What were looking for
4 years designing consumer mobile apps with a portfolio that proves it - subscription or lifestyle/wellness apps strongly preferred
Demonstrated conversion wins: you can point to onboarding or paywall work you did and the numbers it moved
Expert-level Figma
Strong grasp of subscription app patterns: trials paywalls win-back churn moments
Comfortable working with analytics (Mixpanel or similar) to inform design decisions
Self-directed and opinionated - you propose solutions you dont wait for briefs
Bonus: motion design familiarity with iOS and Android platform conventions experience on small fast-moving teams
What this role is not
Not a brand or marketing design role - this is product design for a mobile app
Not a project management role - delivery is owned by the App Manager
Why join
One clearly defined high-leverage problem to start: conversion. Your impact will be visible in the numbers within weeks
Early-stage product with executive backing and a long-term mandate - you shape the design foundation not inherit someone elses
Fully remote with a distributed international team
