Job Summary
- Structural steel design and analysis.
- Reinforced concrete design and assessment.
- Modifications to existing plant structures.
- Civil infrastructure associated with mining and industrial facilities.
- Engineering calculations and modelling.
- Development of technical reports and design documentation.
- Design verification and checking activities.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Assisting with project scoping and budgeting.
- Holds a Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Has experience designing structural steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Can undertake structural analysis and engineering calculations.
- Can prepare technical reports design calculations and engineering documentation.
- Has experience as a consulting engineer working on multiple jobs each with a specific budget and schedule.
- Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Can work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Has knowledge of Australian structural design standards or equivalent international standards.
- Mining infrastructure projects.
- Plant structures and materials handling infrastructure.
- Concrete foundations and slabs.
- Retaining walls culverts and industrial civil infrastructure.
- Experience applying international standards to mining industrial or heavy infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with AS 1170 AS 4100 AS 3600 and AS 1657 and AISC 360 ACI 318 ASCE 7 Eurocodes and ISO 14122.
- SPACEGASS or SAP2000
- Solidworks (preferable) or AutoCAD.
- Sharepoint
- Experience using structural analysis software and preparing engineering deliverables for mining and industrial projects will be highly regarded.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail in engineering calculations and drawing reviews.
- Professional level communication in English written and verbal.
- Comfortable asking questions to confirm understanding.
- Confident enough to push-back if they can see a problem with instructions given.
- Care enough about our team to make suggestions if they can see a better way to do things.
- Within the first 12 months the successful engineer will:
- Be producing design calculations reports and engineering documentation that require minimal revision prior to review.
- Be proficient in checking and document control processes.
- Deliver structural steel and reinforced concrete design work within agreed timeframes.
- Work effectively with Australian engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to structural design and analysis activities.
- Be trusted to independently undertake moderate complexity design and engineering tasks while operating within FIELDs QA and review processes.

Desirable Experience Mining infrastructure projects. Plant structures and materials handling infrastructure. Concrete foundations and slabs. Retaining walls culverts and industrial civil infrastructure. Experience applying international standards to mining industrial or heavy infrastructure projects will be highly regarded. Familiarity with AS 1170 AS 4100 AS 3600 and AS 1657 and AISC 360 ACI 318 ASCE 7 Eurocodes and ISO 14122. Software and Systems Preference will be given to an engineer with experience using: SPACEGASS or SAP2000 Solidworks (preferable) or AutoCAD. Sharepoint Experience using structural analysis software and preparing engineering deliverables for mining and industrial projects will be highly regarded.
