Role/ Department:
The Hedge Fund Accounting team looks after Hedge Funds for numerous Asset Management clients. The Analyst ensures timely & accurate delivery of reports & accounts for a range of clients. This individual will have a strong technical accounting background; experience working within the Financial Services industry.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Ensure timely & accurate delivery of NAV reports for a range of clients
• Responsible for ensuring accurate financial statements in accordance with accepted accounting standards
• Understand and analyze the funds operating expenses and accruals
• Posting of manual journal entries related to accruals and capital activities
• Ensure timely resolution of issues and communicating these to Home Location and internal stakeholders
• Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
• Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organized and controlled
• Employees are required to observe proper standards of market business and personal conduct demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties

Skills/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

• Approachable and able to promote teamwork through creative solutions
• Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Basic to intermediate knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
• Time management and delegation skill
• Knowledge of Excel and other MS office applications Excellent English grammar written and oral communication skills
• Adaptive flexible style with the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
• A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is required
• Bachelors degree with emphasis in Accounting Finance or a quantitative discipline
• 1 2 years of experience in Financial Services environment with Hedge Funds Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
