Senior Electrical Estimator | WFH | AU Client
Job Summary
- Prepare accurate and detailed electrical cost estimates and quotations for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review drawings specifications and other project documentation to determine project scope and costing requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and calculate labor materials equipment subcontractor and overhead costs.
- Ensure all estimates comply with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications.
- Analyze project risks assumptions exclusions and pricing strategies to produce competitive quotations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify project requirements and resolve estimation-related concerns.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to support accurate pricing.
- Maintain organized records of estimates pricing data and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Continuously monitor market pricing material costs and industry trends to improve estimating accuracy.
- Utilize estimating software and digital tools to streamline quotation preparation and maintain efficiency.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in electrical estimating cost estimation or a related role with experience preparing quotations for commercial and industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards related to electrical installations and construction.
- Experience estimating projects valued between approximately AUD 200000 and AUD 10 million.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings technical specifications and project documentation accurately.
- Experience using estimating software such as GroundPlan and Simpro is an advantage but not required.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace applications including Google Sheets Google Docs and Google Drive.
- Strong analytical mathematical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy consistency and high-quality deliverables.
