Job Summary

This is a remote position.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant you will support the delivery of high-quality taxation and compliance services to Australian clients. Working closely with the BLG team you will prepare financial and tax compliance work and assist with the efficient completion of client engagements. This role is primarily focused on technical accounting taxation and compliance tasks and does not involve direct client management responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements income tax returns and business activity statements for review by senior team members.
  • Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standards and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax planning calculations and projections.
  • Complete data entry reconciliations and compliance-related schedules accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with Australian team members regarding workflow job progress and technical queries.
  • Identify and escalate issues discrepancies or missing information for review.
  • Use accounting taxation and practice management software effectively and accurately.
  • Meet internal deadlines and productivity targets while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Comply with company policies confidentiality requirements professional standards and workplace obligations.
  • Undertake other duties reasonably related to the role as required.







Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum three years experience in public practice accounting business services or taxation
  • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and Australian tax concepts.


Desirable

  • Experience working with Australian accounting firms
  • Experience working in an offshore or remote team environment
  • Experience usingClass Super Xero MYOB QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting systems.

Required Skills:

Requirements Must have a qualification in accounting or bookkeeping such as a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or higher Must have at least 4 years of experience in bookkeeping with a proven track record of managing financial records and preparing financial reports Must have at least 6 years of experience in Australian organisations overall Experience in using bookkeeping software such as Xero and MYOB are required Must have experience working with Australian Payroll Legislations Must have advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal Exceptional analytical skills to be able to interpret financial data and provide insights to clients or employers
