The client helps property owners and businesses maximize tax savings and improve cash flow by conducting engineering-based cost segregation studies. These studies accelerate depreciation deductions on commercial and residential investment properties which can significantly reduce federal tax liability.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented R&D Tax Credit Support Specialist to join our growing team and provide operational support to our U.S.-based R&D Tax Credit professionals. This role is responsible for organizing compiling and maintaining documentation required for U.S. Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit studies while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client data and supporting workpapers.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting tax bookkeeping financial analysis or R&D tax credit support with exceptional attention to detail and advanced organizational skills. Experience supporting U.S. R&D Tax Credit studies is highly preferred but candidates with relevant tax accounting or financial documentation experience are encouraged to apply.

This is a non-client advisory role. All technical analysis tax positions credentialed reviews and client advisory services remain the responsibility of the U.S.-based team.

Key Responsibilities
Data Entry & Documentation Support
  • Accurately enter and organize client-provided financial payroll project contractor and supporting documentation into standardized templates and tracking systems.
  • Prepare and maintain organized electronic workpapers and supporting documentation for R&D Tax Credit studies.
  • Compile review and organize documents received from clients for completeness and consistency.
  • Ensure all documentation follows established file naming conventions templates and internal documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate project files and documentation throughout each engagement.
Workpaper Preparation
  • Populate calculation templates and workpapers prepared by the U.S.-based tax team.
  • Assist in assembling project narratives and supporting documentation using information provided by clients and internal team members.
  • Prepare documentation packages for review by senior tax professionals.
  • Identify missing inconsistent or incomplete information and escalate issues to the U.S. team promptly.
Project Coordination
  • Coordinate routine requests for additional information from client contacts under the direction of the U.S.-based team.
  • Track assigned tasks across multiple client engagements while meeting internal and client deadlines.
  • Review completed work for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Incorporate feedback from reviewers and maintain version control of project files.
  • Provide regular progress updates on assigned projects and communicate potential delays or issues.
Quality & Process Compliance
  • Follow established procedures documentation standards and internal workflows.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client financial and business information.
  • Continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of assigned processes.
  • Participate in training sessions related to U.S. R&D Tax Credit documentation and internal procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration Economics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in R&D tax credit support accounting tax bookkeeping financial analysis audit support or a related role involving financial documentation and data management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including working with formulas spreadsheets and structured templates.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote U.S.-based team.
  • Comfortable following structured processes and established documentation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. R&D Tax Credit studies.
  • Knowledge of U.S. tax documentation and accounting practices.
  • Experience working with CPA firms tax advisory firms or financial consulting organizations.
  • Familiarity with reviewing financial statements payroll reports general ledgers project costing and contractor documentation.
  • Experience using document management systems workflow tools or project tracking software.
