Job Summary
JOB OVERVIEW
The Project Manager Electro/Mechanical/Instrumentation (E/M/I) is responsible for leading the planning coordination and execution of all electro-mechanical and instrumentation systems within a hydropower dam and pumped storage project. This includes critical components such as hydro turbines generators cooling systems transformers electrical substations instrumentation automation and control systems.
The role ensures all systems are installed integrated tested and commissioned according to design specifications project timelines and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has proven experience in hydropower infrastructure and demonstrates strong technical and leadership capabilities.
THE ROLE
- Manage the full scope of E/M/I works from engineering review procurement coordination and installation to testing and commissioning.
- Supervise installation of hydro-mechanical components such as turbines valves penstocks pumps gates HVAC and balance of plant.
- Oversee all electrical systems including generators switchgear transformers SCADA protection relays and substation interfaces.
- Coordinate instrumentation and automation systems ensuring integration with electrical and mechanical operations.
- Interface with OEMs suppliers consultants and EPC contractors for technical and delivery matters.
- Ensure all works comply with safety quality and environmental standards as well as applicable codes (e.g. IEC IEEE ANSI ISO).
- Monitor progress manage risks track budgets and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Resolve on-site technical and coordination issues through collaboration with civil geotechnical and project control teams.
- Lead inspections FATs SATs and commissioning procedures.
- Prepare documentation reports and updates for project management and key stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor a team of E/M/I engineers and site personnel.
THE INDIVIDUAL
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering; PRC license required.
- Strong understanding of hydropower plant systems instrumentation automation and control.
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in electro-mechanical and instrumentation project execution with at least 10 years in hydropower or pumped storage projects.
- Willingness to be deployed 100% onsite with flexibility to work in either Rizal or Laguna project locations.
- Familiarity with international and local standards (IEC IEEE ISA NEC PEC etc.).
- Project management experience with EPC or turnkey contracts.
- Proficiency in MS Project AutoCAD and technical documentation tools.
- Strong leadership coordination and communication skills.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary site teams.
Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; PRC license is preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience in electrical and/or mechanical works for hydropower plants pumped storage projects power plants or large-scale infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with E&M systems such as turbines generators pumps transformers switchgear protection systems auxiliary systems or balance-of-plant equipment. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEC IEEE NEC ASME ISO OEM standards and local regulations). Proficient in Microsoft Office AutoCAD and basic project tracking tools (e.g. MS Project or Primavera). Strong understanding of installation testing and commissioning processes for E&M equipment. Willingness to work 100% onsite with flexibility to be assigned in either Rizal or Laguna project locations. Strong coordination documentation and communication skills. Proactive detail-oriented and committed to safety quality and project delivery.
