About the Role
We are seeking an experienced autonomous Accountant with deep expertise in construction accounting to manage our day-to-day financial operations and lead month-end this role you will work 20 hours per week running financial reporting and contract accounting independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close: Manage and execute the full month-end closing process independently ensuring complete accuracy and timely reporting.
- Construction Accounting & WIP: Track job costs manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules analyze over/under billings and maintain job cost ledgers.
- AIA Billing: Prepare review and submit accurate AIA G702/G703 payment applications and lien waivers.
- General Ledger & Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Monitor cash flow review job-related invoices process vendor payments and oversee collections.
- Proven track record in construction accounting with direct experience managing WIP reporting and AIA billing.
- Demonstrated ability to run a month-end close cycle independently from start to finish.
- Strong proficiency with general ledger job costing and standard accounting principles (GAAP).
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50 or Sage 100 (experience with other ERP systems like Quickbooks Contractor or Foundation is acceptable if you learn new software quickly).
