Position Overview
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experiencedNDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Inspectorto join our Quality Assurance and Inspection team. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity and safety of welded components and structures in high-risk industrial environments particularly within Oil & Gas and Petrochemical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct non-destructive examinations using multiple methods (Ultrasonic Testing Magnetic Particle Testing Radiographic Testing Penetrant Testing)
- Review and evaluate welding inspection results against applicable codes standards and specifications
- Set up calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Interpret and evaluate test results with respect to ASME API and AWS standards
- Organize document and prepare comprehensive technical reports on examination findings
- Ensure all inspections comply with relevant regulatory requirements and client specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve defect findings and non-conformances
- Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation
Required Qualifications
Education
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Engineering(or equivalent technical education in a related discipline)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 yearsof hands-on experience in:
- Welding Inspection
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) review
- Quality Control
- Minimum 5 yearsof specialized experience inOil & Gas and Petrochemical Plantenvironments
Certifications (Required)
- ASNT Level II certificationin the following methods:
- UT(Ultrasonic Testing)
- MT(Magnetic Particle Testing)
- RT(Radiographic Testing)
- PT(Penetrant Testing)
Technical Knowledge & Competencies
- Thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of each NDT method for which certified
- Proficiency in equipment setup calibration and operation
- Strong ability to interpret and evaluate results against applicable codes and standards
- Expertise in the following codes and standards:
- ASME Section V
- API 1104
- ASME/ANSI B31.3
- API RP 2X
- AWS D1.1
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and non-conformance reporting
Language & Communication
- Excellent spoken and written Englishproficiency
- Demonstrated ability to write clear accurate technical reports
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Technical Skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in standard office software
- Ability to document findings using inspection management systems
- Familiarity with digital inspection tools and databases
Preferred Qualifications
- ASNT Level III certification in one or more NDT methods
- Experience with automated or advanced NDT technologies
- ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management system experience
- Previous experience working with Bureau Veritas or similar certification bodies
- Familiarity with PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) or TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction)
